ESPN cut its NHL Staff... here's an Opportunity for Blacks

ESPN the largest sports media company in world cut the entire staff of its NHL (National Hockey League) yesterday.

In a message sent Wednesday to ESPN employees, network president John Skipper announced the company was beginning its next round of layoffs, a long-anticipated move that will thin the ranks of ESPN’s on-air and online talent.

The timing couldn't get any worse as the NHL is in the midst of playoff season, peak time for hockey fans. NHL’s popularity just isn't any match for fan crazed NFL and NBA leagues. Companies aren't aiming to advertise and sponsor NHL related events as before.

Who’s going to cover NHL now? The pickings are up for grabs it seems. Where there’s turmoil there’s also opportunity. Here’s an opportunity to turn lemons to lemonade and Black people should be just the ones to forge it.

There are enough Black minds knowledgeable, experienced or studying journalism, sports casting, video directing, videography, cinematography, and advertising exec’s to proceed and elevate where ESPN dropped the ball.

Here’s your chance Black People. Let’s see if you do anything with it. Will you take advantage or allow the ‘Jews’ to rebrand/restructure and come back in and take reign?

Blacks invented hockey reclaim what’s yours.
